Beginner Obedience            6-6:30pm

CD/Brush Up Obedience     6:30-7:15pm

Dog Show Handling              7:15-8pm

Open/Utility                           8-9pm

 $160 for 8 weeks Obedience  (Please pre-register, space is limited)

$100 for 8 weeks Handling Class

CLASSES

Tyee Kennel Club offers fun and engaging dog obedience classes designed for all skill levels, from beginners to those preparing for competition. These classes focus on building a strong foundation in basic obedience, enhancing communication and teamwork between you and your dog. While all dogs are welcome, classes are not intended for aggressive dogs or those needing behavioral rehabilitation. The positive and supportive environment helps both dogs and handlers gain confidence and skills. Whether you're aiming for a well-mannered companion or looking to enter the competition ring, Tyee’s obedience program provides the tools to succeed, build a bond and have fun!

BEGINNER OBEDIENCE

Basic dog obedience is the foundation for a well-behaved and happy canine companion. It includes essential skills such as sit, stay, come, down, and loose-leash walking. These commands help improve communication between you and your dog, making daily life more enjoyable and manageable. Consistent training builds trust and strengthens your bond, while also promoting safety at home and in public. Basic obedience is suitable for dogs of all breeds and ages and sets the stage for more advanced training or dog sports.

 

CD/BRUSH UP OBEDIENCE

CD/Brush Up obedience training is ideal for dogs and handlers who have some experience and want to refine their skills. These classes focus on the exercises required for the CKC Companion Dog (CD) title, including heeling, recalls, and stays. It's also a great option for those looking to brush up on previous training or prepare for obedience competitions. The supportive environment helps both dog and handler build confidence and polish their teamwork.

 

DOG SHOW HANDLING

Dog show handling classes at Tyee Kennel Club are designed to help handlers and their dogs shine in the conformation ring. These classes teach proper presentation techniques, ring etiquette, and how to best showcase your dog's strengths. Whether you're new to showing or looking to fine-tune your skills, the classes provide valuable practice in a supportive setting. Handlers learn to move their dogs confidently and work on stacking, gaiting, and judge interaction. It's a great way to prepare for the show ring while building a strong bond with your dog.

 

OPEN/UTILITY OBEDIENCE

Advanced obedience classes at Tyee Kennel Club are designed for dogs and handlers who have mastered the basics and are ready to take their skills to the next level. These classes focus on more complex exercises such as off-leash heeling, precise recalls, and advanced stays with distractions. They also help prepare teams for higher-level obedience titles and competitive events. The training emphasizes precision, control, and teamwork, building a deeper connection between dog and handler. It's an excellent step for those aiming for excellence in obedience performance.
